I layered Japanese ephemera - maps, cartoon, candy wrappers, ads, menus, schedules, origami papers, etc - into a mixed media painting that mirrors the visual noise of everyday life. Borrowing the language of advertising and mass production, I transform familiar scraps into intuitive, painterly compositions. The work reframes consumer culture as a poetic resource, reassembled into something contemplative and open-ended.
